Weekending 06/04/11 at "Seeds of Hope" Community Garden

Troop    180      seen    a
need they could fill...relocating our pile of mulch closer to where it was needed.

Now we will relocate it from here saving us many steps with pulling and pushing wheelbarrows.

Trey, and a few others involved with the ARC of Palm Beaches, these guys are taking a break after moving compost.

Weekending 5/28/2011 at Seeds of Hope

Our "WISH" for mulch has been granted...Whew were going to need heavy machinery to move all of this.

Looking west you can see Members from ARC have begun to use the mulch to retain moisture in their plot. Smart Group!

These Grapes are not to far from being eaten.

One of our Number 1 volunteers taking some time to replant all these baby pineapple plants.

William S. and Dena D, two dedicated members and Volunteers! Thanks for all you two do...

This visitor came from as far as Alabama to visit us and see the Beauty here at Lake Park's Community Garden Seeds of Hope.

William S. hired a few strong guys to come in and move mulch. They spread it all around the entrance covering all signs of weeds.

Dena and our recent volunteer sign up Andrea are taking some time to weed and repair this plot from being neglected and overgrown with weeds.

Project Coordinator Erin T. Flaherty, inspecting irrigation lines and replacing valves.

Looking west from the Red Barn you can see Dena and Andrea working on a plot, Jeff M. and Erin F. also seeing discussing water issues and topics.

Weekend of the Garden Party!

Sign for 7th Street

Our Garden Party Signs were made by our group members from the ARC.  We had two of these and posted one facing Foresteria Dr and the other 7th street.

Foresteria Dr.
Thanks to plan B our Party was a Great Success.

Garden Group Members from the ARC saved our rained out Garden Party with letting us bring the celebration indoors.  Here you can see me telling everyone "I did the rain dance with my fingers crossed all day, but it wasn't effective this time".

Thanks too William S. for supplying this grill for tonight and future use's.  Will be planning future gatherings and its good to know a good grill is available.

In no time at all the Burgers were ready , the sides "delicious" all prepared and brought in by others. Some even prepared directly from the garden earlier Saturday morning.

Looks like I was reaching in for my taste of fresh beets grown in the garden and prepared by Helene.  She is a wonderful cook and has many recipes for a variety of things we grow in the Garden.

Burger line stayed steady with hungry appetites.

Nann having a bite to eat with some new friends.

Everyone enjoyed themselves. From good food to great laughs and smiling faces.

Hey hey, say cheese...

Smile! Thanks for coming and supporting our Garden Party.

Garden friends Mr & Mrs. Sullivan

Everyone's attendance and presence was appreciated.

The famous Pumpkin Bread... the Seminole pumpkins we grew last year stored properly have a shelf life of 1 year. "Lucky me" I eat the Pumpkin Bread all year.

Delicious, sweet potato pies. Harvested only 1 day before baking. Thanks to lovely Becca.

Me, Erin T. Flaherty my son Logan and Dedicated Garden Member Valerie S.

Commissioner S. Hockman and myself. Thanks for stopping in and saying "Hi".
