Weekend of 11/27/2010

Lots going on at the garden this weekend we had our new grower Harry come work his plot and another new sign up Hilde come in and prepare her ground for her growing experience. Exciting to see the new faces and hear the different ideas they bring. We are open to all new cultures and embrace any new foods from different ethnicity.  Come and join us every weekend on Saturday Mornings 8- 11am.  We are preparing for the next Lake Park Event were we will be promoting the garden at our booth.

Holiday Arts & Craft Fair
Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th
            10am - 5pm

John on the left is a volunteer and on the right we have our regular contributor Mr. Sullivan, has donated many different items to the garden from our coaco tree, sapodilla, and keynote. What a wonderful person this gentelman is and he is a walking plant encyclopedia. He rides his bike around town getting plenty of execersi and if you ever seen his yard he grows many of his own edibles right at home.

This is Harry's plot it's a 15x10 also seen is our community area for our tomato's and pepper plants.

Hildes plot is also shown here steps away from growing veggies and herbs. We all chipped in giving her a hand with laying down large cardboard boxes then covering it with mulch to give us a separation from the existing sand and weeds then we will put down the weed barrier and finally plant some seeds after the rows and pots are in place.
